Nail Art Time! featuring Dreamland Lacquer and Born Pretty Store

Nail Art Time! featuring Dreamland Lacquer and Born Pretty Store

*Purchased by Me and Sent by Maker*

Why, hello there! I'm sorry again for being absent lately. The good news is, I'm finished summer classes, and am on a mini break for about a week and a half! Woo-hoo!

Today, I'm sharing some stamping nail art with you! For the base of this mani, I used Dreamland Lacquer's Coral of the Story II, a Hella Holo Customs polish that was created a couple of months ago. I reviewed the original Coral of the Story here, but some customers had had this polish fade; therefore, Noelie, the maker of Dreamland, was kind enough to reformulate COTS and replace EVERYONE'S bottle, at no cost to the buyer. Isn't that amazing of her? I am forever in awe of how sweet indie makers are!

Dreamland Lacquer Coral of the Story II

Collection: Hella Holo Customs April 2016 Customs
Color/Finish: Dreamland Lacquer Coral of the Story II is a pink-toned coral linear holographic.
Formula/Application: COTS II had a smooth and even formula, and it was a dream (haha, no pun intended!) to apply. It dried very quickly between coats, about 2 minutes maximum. It dried glossy, but shown is with one layer of glossy top coat.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! This color is so vibrant in person, the holo flame is insane, and the formula was perfect! What more could a polish lover ask for?
Availability: Dreamland Lacquer Coral of the Story II is no longer currently available for direct purchase.

Stamping Time!

After my topcoat dried, I decided to add some stamping to Coral of the Story. For this mani, I chose a swirly image from Born Pretty Store's BP-28. For this image, I used white Konad polish and my clear jelly stamper, also from Born Pretty Store. Everything is sealed in with another layer of glossy top coat!

I'm so excited with how this came out! And, I actually kept this on for 4 days. FOUR DAYS! That's probably a record for me!

Ever After Polish Polished Princesses Group Customs: Swatches and Review

Ever After Polish Polished Princesses Group Customs: Swatches and Review

*Purchased by Me*

Happy Sunday to you! Today, I'm sharing the most recent Facebook group customs that Rachel has created for the Ever After Polish group, Polished Princesses! This time, she decided to go a different route, and created polishes that were based off of comic book characters. I absolutely love the entire trio that she created, and of course, the formulas are amazing. Let's jump right in!

Bad Deadpool...Good Deadpool

Color/Finish: Based off of Deadpool, this polish is described on the site as a dark navy blue base with blue to red chrome shift with red shimmer and scattered holo.
Formula/Application: Ever After Bad Deadpool...Good Deadpool had an AMAZING formula! Usually with shimmers like this, the formula is thin and requires about three coats. With this, the first coat appeared a bit thin, but it built up to be fully opaque in two easy coats. It applied smoothly and evenly, dried quickly, and dried shiny! Shown is with one layer of glossy top coat.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! I am a true purple polish lover at heart, and the blue and red in this polish makes it appear as purple. With this formula, I will be using it LOTS! And, as a Baltimore girl, I will have lots of time to wear it during Ravens season!
Availability: Ever After Polish Bad Deadpool...Good Deadpool is currently available on the site for $10.50 for a full size 13.5 mL bottle. You do have to be a member of the Polished Princesses Facebook group to purchase, and the link to the group can be found down below!

I'm Vengeance, I'm the Night

Color/Finish: Based off of Batman, this polish is described on the site as a dark gray creamy base with gold flakes, gold sparkle, and holo.
Formula/Application: Ever After I'm Vengeance, I'm the Night applied like a dream. I used two coats for full opacity, and it applied smoothly and evenly, with no fishing required for the flakies. It dried smoothly and evenly, and dried down shiny. Shown is with one layer of glossy top coat!
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! This is the perfect shade of gray, and the I feel like the cold flakes are a great diversion from the usual silver or multichrome flakes. Add that holo in there, and I am a happy polish lover!
Availability: Ever After Polish I'm Vengeance, I'm the Night is currently available on the site for $10.50 for a full size 13.5 mL bottle. You do have to be a member of the Polished Princesses Facebook group to purchase, and the link to the group can be found down below!

Burdened with Glorious Purpose

Color/Finish: Based off of Loki, this polish is described on the site as a deep pine green crelly base with gold flakes, gold sparkle, and linear holo.
Formula/Application: Ever After Burdened with Glorious Purpose was almost opaque in one coat; the only reason why I did two was because I still had some white space showing on the free edge of my nail. It applied smoothly and evenly, and no fishing for flakies was needed. It dried glossy on its own as well! Shown are two easy coats plus one layer of glossy top coat.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! This polish is so multi-dimensional, and it is the one that remained on my nails for a couple of days after swatching these. The formula is great, and it is a magnificent shade of green. I can't wait to wear this a lot during the Fall time!
Availability: Ever After Polish Burdened with Glorious Purpose is currently available on the site for $10.50 for a full size 13.5 mL bottle. You do have to be a member of the Polished Princesses Facebook group to purchase, and the link to the group can be found down below!

I know that Rachel's favorite color is pink, but I am IN LOVE with the direction that she went with these group customs! They are nice and vampy, which are some of my favorite types of colors; hey, I love the Fall time, so they fit perfectly with that! I especially love the bottom labels of the polishes, which show the character that the polish is based off of. Rachel also created a "Mystery" polish to accompany this trio, based off of Wonder Woman. I will have a post on that one at a later time! Until then, be sure to join the Polished Princesses group on Facebook, in order to be able to pick up these beauties.

Do you have a favorite? Do you (or did you already) plan on picking any of them up? Let me know below!

Animal Print Nails! Featuring Carpe Noctem Cosmetics

Animal Print Nails! Featuring Carpe Noctem Cosmetics

*Purchased by Me*

Happy Friday! Tonight, I'm going to be showing you a mani that I did with a color from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics that I've had in my to-try pile for a bit.

One of the colors that I've picked up recently from Carpe Noctem is another color from Emily's Inspiration Collection, in which each polish was inspired by a person in the nail polish community who is very important to her. This polish is named Classy As Fuck, and it was inspired by An of The Polished Hippy. Now, I have had the pleasure of interacting with An as well, and I can attest to her classiness and kindness; I 100% respect and value her as a fellow member of the nail community, and always look to her for advice! Please, please, please be sure to go check out her blog!

Classy As Fuck is described on Emily's site as a metallic red linear holo with platinum and multichrome flakies. I was able to get it fully opaque in two easy coats, which applied smoothly and dried quickly and shiny!

For my mani, I applied Classy As Fuck on my thumbs, ring fingers, and pinkies. Then, I applied two coats of Sally Hansen's Tag, Ur It! on my index and middle fingers. Once that was dry, I stamped a zebra print image (in black) on top of the white base; for this, I used a plate that I had picked up in an "As Seen on TV" kit, long, long ago (it was actually the beginning of my ventures into stamping!). Once everything dried, I sealed it all in with another layer of topcoat. Here is the final result!

If you are interested in picking up a bottle of Classy As Fuck, you can find the listing for it on Emily's site, right here! The cost is $12.00 for a 15 mL full size bottle, or $6.00 for a 6 mL mini bottle.

Humpday Nail Art with Ever After Polish and WhatsUp Nail Vinyls!

Humpday Nail Art with Ever After Polish and WhatsUp Nail Vinyls!

*Purchased by Me*

Happy Humpday!! I am officially in my last week of classes for the summer, before finals week; I'm happy to be wining down a bit, and may be a bit too excited to get a week off and to myself...woo-hoo!

Today, I am sharing a mani that I am SO EXCITED about; it's my most successful attempt yet at using nail vinyls! I recently made a purchase from WhatsUp Nails, when they had their 40% off back-to-school sale, and picked up some adorable butterfly vinyls; I knew right away that I had to give them a shot.

For this manicure, I began with two coats of Sally Hansen Tag, Ur It! on my pinky and ring fingers; I let that dry fully, and applied quick-dry top coat. On my thumbs, middle, and index fingers, I applied two coats of Ever After Polish Veg Fest, another color that I have recently purchased. Veg Fest was a color that Rachel had created for an event named Veg Fest in Pittsburgh, and it can be best described as a green-toned teal microglitter and pink shimmer. It was fully opaque in two coats, and dried quickly; my pictures show it with topcoat. Veg Fest is no longer currently available, but there is another event custom that is in stock in Rachel's shop!

When the topcoat on my white base was fully dry, I applied my butterfly nail vinyls. These vinyls peeled off easily, and I did not have any trouble with having the inner designs to peel off. After positioning them, I took a cosmetic sponge and sponged on Veg Fest; I did three passes of the sponge over the vinyl, in order to reach the opacity that I wanted. After it dried, I applied another layer of top coat, and was all finished! I am so excited with how these came out, and I can't wait to play with some more designs and techniques!

The Holo Hookup Box (August 2016): Swatch and Review

The Holo Hookup Box (August 2016): Swatch and Review

*Purchased by Me*

Helloooo!! Today, I am sharing my swatch and review of the August 2016 Holo Hookup Box! This is a collaboration box between DIFFERENT dimension, Glisten & Glow, and Cupcake Polish; each box also has a featured maker each time. August's guest maker was Nvr Enuff. The Holo Hookup Box is released monthly.

There is usually a different theme each month, and August's was called "A Day in the Garden;" each brand's polish was inspired by a flower! Let's take a look at the box, shall we??

Glisten & Glow Fern Gully

Color/Finish: A forest green linear holographic with blue and gold shimmer.
Formula/Application: Glisten & Glow Fern Gully was smooth and easy to apply. It was almost opaque in one coat, but I used two for good measure. I had this on, with base coat, for about 15-20 minutes, and did not experience any staining. Shown is with glossy top coat, but it dried glossy on its own!
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! This is a glorious shade of green, and the holo flame on it is absolutely insane!
Availability: Glisten & Glow Fern Gully was a part of the August Holo Hookup Box, which is no longer currently available.

Cupcake Polish Blue Orchid

Color/Finish: A cyan/teal blue linear holo with pink and blue shimmer.
Formula/Application: The formula on Cupcake Polish Blue Orchid holds true to all of the other Cupcake Polishes that I own, as it was smooth and easy to apply. It dried quickly and glossy, and was fully opaque in two coats. Shown is with one layer of glossy top coat!
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! You all know my love for Cupcake Polish already, and Blue Orchid holds up to the same standards!
Availability: Cupcake Polish Blue Orchid was a part of the August Holo Hookup Box, which is no longer currently available.

Nvr Enuff Odessa Black

Color/Finish: A blackened eggplant purple linear holo with flakies and red shimmer.
Formula/Application: Nvr Enuff Odessa Black was smooth and easy to apply, and applied evenly. The first coat was a bit thin and jelly-like, but it built up to full opacity in two easy coats. It dried quickly and glossy! Shown is with one layer of glossy top coat.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! My favorite color is purple, and I am a sucker for vampy shades. Paired with the brush that I love from Nvr Enuff, and this great formula, I am in love! I definitely need to try this color as a base for some stamping!
Availability: Nvr Enuff Odessa Black was a part of the August Holo Hookup Box, which is no longer currently available.

DIFFERENT dimension Montego Red

Color/Finish: A darkened red linear holo with added shimmer and purple microglitter.
Formula/Application: DIFFERENT dimension Montego Red was SO CLOSE to being a one-coater! I typically experience that with holo/microglitter combo polishes. However, I used two coats for full opacity. It dried very quickly and smoothly; shown is with one layer of glossy top coat!
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! This shade of red is absolutely AMAZING, plus the added microglitter? Swoon! Definitely one of the standouts of the box for me! I had to keep this one on after I finished swatching all four colors, as it stuck in my mind!
Availability: DIFFERENT dimension Montego Red was a part of the August Holo Hookup Box, which is no longer currently available.

So, what do you think? This is my first purchase of the Holo Hookup Box, but I definitely plan on purchasing more in the future! The box is typically $40.00 plus shipping, available internationally, and all of the polishes are full-sized. You can check out and follow their social media (linked below) for sneak peeks of the next box!

Happy Friday! So, I have two more weeks of summer classes, then I am down to ONE SEMESTER of classes until I graduate with my Master's degree in clinical psychology. WHAT?!?! I can't wait!

Today, I am sharing the August custom for my Facebook group Holo-Maniacs. This month, the featured maker is Amy from Top Shelf Lacquer! I had never previously owned any polishes from Amy, but I have seen her work, and knew that I wanted to ask her to create one of her beauties for my group. Well, she did! Here is Holo-Maniacs Custom #6:

Here is the inspiration picture!

Collection: August 2016 Holo-Maniacs Custom
Color/Finish: A boysenberry purple linear holographic with pink glass fleck.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! This shade of purple is absolutely delicious, and the pink glass fleck adds a little sumthin-sumthin that makes my heart beat faster! I am definitely in love with the formula of this, and I think that I may now need to try some more polishes from Top Shelf Lacquer!
