Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker: Swatch and Review

Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker: Swatch and Review

*Purchased by Me*

Hello, Sunday! You know what that means--Monday is here tomorrow! Ew.

Tonight, I'm sharing a polish from Pretty & Polished with you! This polish is named Jawbreaker. For the remainder of this month (until June 30th, 2016), Chelsea of Pretty & Polished is donating the proceeds of Jawbreaker sales to those families who were affected by the Pulse shooting in Orlando. (And of course, I couldn't let my bottle travel alone, so I will have some more P&P colors coming up soon ;) )

Collection: Core Collection
Color/Finish: Described on the Pretty & Polished site as a white base splattered with the best original jawbreaker colors! This polish has a white base that can become opaque with just two nice layers. Packed with blue, green, yellow, red, and purple glitters in all different shapes and sizes.
Formula/Application: Jawbreaker had the smoothest and easiest formula! I applied two layers over one layer of a white creme polish, and it was a dream to work with. I did not have to fish for any glitter whatsoever, and the layers dried quickly, about 2 minutes in between each. Because of the glitters, it dried a bit bumpy, but smoothed right out with a thick layer of topcoat! Even though I layered it, Jawbreaker is more than capable of being opaque on its own, in 2-3 coats.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! This polish is so smooth and easy to apply, and the final effect is absolutely adorable. I think that I'm going to find myself reaching for this baby on a frequent basis!
Availability: Jawbreaker is currently available on the Pretty & Polished website, and it is available in a 6 mL mini ($4.50) or a 15 mL full size ($8.50) bottle. You can find the listing for it right here! And don't forget, until June 30, 2016, proceeds from this polish go towards the families affected in the Orlando Pulse shooting.

Ever After Polish Fly With Me: Swatch and Review

Ever After Polish Fly With Me: Swatch and Review

*Purchased by Me*

Hey there! Today, I am sharing a polish from Ever After that I am more than in love with, for more than one reason. Rachel and Miranda created this polish, and accompanying hand care set (to be explained in just a minute!) to bring awareness to the struggle of infertility and infant loss. The Fly With Me On Broken Wings set comes with the polish that I will show you in just a moment, as well as a cuticle crelly and a cuticle oil in the scent of Hope, Dream, Believe, which is described as a blend of lemon, jasmine, vanilla, and lily. Pricing information, as well as where a portion of the proceeded go to, will be described at the bottom of this post.

Fly With Me

Collection: Fly With Me On Broken Wings set
Color/Finish: Described on the Ever After site as a beautiful midnight blue polish loaded with pink and multicolor flakes and sparkles.
Formula/Application: On par with Ever After, Fly With Me applied smoothly and evenly! The first coat covered well, and I only needed two for full opacity. I did not need to fish for any of the flakies that were applied! It dried glossy, but my swatches are shown with one layer of glossy top coat, under a daylight bulb.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! This shade of blue is absolutely stunning, and the formula was a dream to work with. I barely required any clean-up, which is a big deal with me; I'm a messy polisher! While I do not have the crelly or the cuticle oil from the set, I have heard that they smell amazing!
Availability: Fly With Me is only available in the Fly With Me On Broken Wings set, which is currently available on Ever After's site, right here.  The set (13.5 mL polish, cuticle crelly, and cuticle oil) costs $16.00, before shipping, and a Rachel and Miranda are donating a portion of the sales to the Baby Quest Foundation, which provides financial support to families who are pursuing infertility treatments.

Collection: Winter 2015
Color/Finish: Mossy green linear holo with gold micro flakes
Formula/Application: On par with every ILNP that I have tried, Ski Lodge applied smoothly and evenly! The first coat was a tad thin, but I got it fully opaque in three thin coats. It dried glossy, but my swatches are shown with one layer of glossy top coat, under a daylight bulb.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 stars! This shade of green is super unique to my collection, and the gold micro flakes combined with the linear holo really add that special flair.

Cupcake Polish Re-Vamped: Swatch and Review

Cupcake Polish Re-Vamped: Swatch and Review

*Purchased by Me*

I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend! I've been doing nothing but schoolwork and watching the new season of Orange is the New Black for the past two days, so I can't really complain about anything bad :)

Today, I am sharing a Cupcake Polish named Re-Vamped, which I picked up from a destash a bit ago. Usually, I wait at least 5-7 days after taking pictures of a polish to blog about it, but I couldn't wait to share this one; you will definitely see why this is so, in just a minute! Are ya ready??

Collection: Fall 2015 Modern Vampire Collection
Color/Finish: A green-toned teal with an insanely strong linear holo!
Formula/Application: So smooth and easy to apply! I have yet to have an issue with the formula on any of my polishes from Cupcake, and Re-Vamped was no exception. Easily a one-coater, but I used two, for good measure. It dries semi-glossy, and my pictures show it with one coat of glossy topcoat.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! The application was absolutely flawless, and the shade and holo are absolutely divine.
Availability:Re-Vamped is currently available in Cupcake Polish's shop for $13.00 for a 15 mL bottle. You can find the listing for it right here

*Note: As of the time that I am writing this post, I have yet to remove Re-Vamped. I will come back and edit my post after removal, to report whether or not there was any staining!*

Fair Maiden Polish Merry Plum Berry and Bright: Swatch and Review

Fair Maiden Polish Merry Plum Berry and Bright: Swatch and Review

*Sent as a gift*

Today, I am sharing a polish from Fair Maiden Polish with you! I received this polish, Merry Plum Berry and Bright, as a freebie in an order that I placed from a destash. I don't have many colors from Fair Maiden, so I was pretty excited to receive this! Let's take a look!

Color/Finish: Medium plum linear holo with golden shimmer.
Formula/Application: Smooth, even, and buttery! The first coat was a bit thin, but it built up well in three thin coats.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 hearts! I absolutely love this shade of purple, and the golden shimmer is a total bonus! The only thing that took away from the fourth star was the thinness of the first coat; I felt like this would be a solid two-coater.
Availability: Merry Plum Berry and Bright is currently still available in Fair Maiden's shop, and it costs  $9.00 for a 15 mL bottle. You can find the listing for it right here

Ever After Polish MPT G: Swatch and Review

Ever After MPT G: Swatch and Review

Hey hey! Welcome to another Friday! Today, I have a polish from Ever After to share with you. Let's take a look, shall we?

Color/Finish: Dark plum purple linear holographic with gold holographic glitter
Formula/Application: Smooth and even, reaching full opacity in three thin coats.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! I am a purple polish freak, and when paired with a linear holo and an extra smattering of holo glitter, I am sold!
Availability: MPT G is currently still available in Ever After's shop, and it costs  $9.50 for a 13.5 mL bottle. You can find the listing for it right here

4th of July Nail Art Blog Switch with Polished Pathology!

4th of July Nail Art Blog Switch with Mindfully Polished - Press Samples/Purchased by Me

I'm so excited to be doing a blog switch with Jenne from Polished Pathology! Read below to see her amazing 4th of July mani, then jump over to her blog to see what I created!

Hey guys, Jenne here! Today I am switching with Megan from Mindfully Polished. I've been watching her swatching style grow over the past couple months and have been really impressed. Also, WE HAVE THE SAME BIRTHDAY! When I found that out, I asked if she wanted to do a blog switch with nail art that celebrated our birthday. She said yes! I can't wait to show you what I did, so let's get to the polishes!

4th
sup
  1. Sinful Colors GoGo Girl
  2. Sinful Colors Endless Blue
  3. Color Club Just My Luck
  4. Salon Perfect Sugar Cube
  5. Chaos & Crocodiles Black Ops
  6. Zeva Triple Strength Nail Guard
  7. Glisten & Glow HK Girl
  8. Vibrant Vinyls Liquid Latex
  9. Vibrant Vinyls 4th of July Sampler Pack
  10. Vibrant Vinyls Skinny Rays stencil

step-1 Do your watermarble! I did a marble of Sinful Colors GoGo Girl, Color Club Just My Luck, and Sinful Colors Endless Blue. I'm including a video tutorial at the end :) I realize this isn't truly a good 'step 1' but it's my birthday. I can do what I want. Fourth of July Nail Art

life Fourth of July Nail Art Add the vinyls! I used the 4th of July Sampler pack and the Skinny Rays stencil from Vibrant Vinyls. If you have a leg or two of the stars off your nail and onto the ski, the stars are easy to remove and you won't damage the design underneath. I was going for a firework look for my middle fingers. Paint over with your choice of color (I used Salon Perfect Sugar Cube and Chaos & Crocodiles Black Ops). For some, it might be easier to sponge the color on top, which helps with flooding. I didn't have any issues with the colors I chose.

3 Fourth of July Nail Art Remove the vinyls, top coat, and you're done! I used tweezers to help with removal, and that made things pretty easy. I LOVE how they turned out, what do you guys think? Fourth of July Nail Art

As promised, here is my YouTube video tutorial! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your blog today, Megan! What do you guys think of our Fourth of July Nail Art?   -- Jenne Rempel Polished Pathology http://www.polishedpathology.com

AMAZING, isn't she?? Thank you so much for asking me to switch with you, Jenne!

DIFFERENT Dimension Up All Night: Swatch, Review, and Nail Art!

DIFFERENT Dimension Up All Night: Swatch, Review, and Nail Art!

*Purchased by Me*

Welcome to FRIDAY!!!! While I'm excited for it to be the weekend, one of my summer classes finally began, so I finally have some schoolwork to keep me busy again; I like it, though, and enjoy being busy!

Today, I'm sharing with you a color from DIFFERENT Dimension that I picked up from a destash, as well as some accompanying water decal nail art. Y'all know how I ave come to love my water decals!

DIFFERENT Dimension Up All Night was a color that was released in 2014, as a part of the I Survived Black Friday collaboration box with Cupcake Polish and Glisten & Glow. Up All Night is a dark teal linear holo, and it is absolutely glorious, as are all of the holos that I have from Missi! I was able to get it opaque in two coats, and the dry time between coats was about two minutes.

After digging through my stash of water decals, I decided to go with this image. I love how well the jewel-tone purple in this image goes with Up All Night. I selected my favorite parts of this image, and applied them over two coats of Sally Hansen Tag, Ur It!, on both my index and middle fingers. After clean-up, I sealed everything in with two layers of glossy top coat, for extra longevity.

I absolutely love how this combo came out, and just typing up this post is making me itch to go play with some more decal and polish combos!

I Love Nail Polish (ILNP) Honor Roll: Swatch and Review

I Love Nail Polish (ILNP) Honor Roll: Swatch and Review

*Purchased by me*

Happy Thursday, AKA almost Fridayyy!!! I told you a bit ago that I was going to have a bunch of colors from I Love Nail Polish (ILNP) to show you, and I'm starting up on that promise today, with another stunner! The color that I'm sharing with you today is called Honor Roll. Honor Roll is from ILNP's Summer 2015 collection, and it is described as "a luscious navy blue polish packed with tons of holographic goodness." It is a part of their Ultra Holo line, which is a line of holos that includes both linear and scattered holo properties; and let me tell you, this baby is IN. YOUR. FACE. HOLO.

Just look at those scattered holo particles! Ah, I die!

The formula on ILNP Honor Roll was as amazing as I had expected: Smooth, buttery, even, and self-leveling! Because of the holographic elements, I like to do thinner coats, so that you can see all of the sparkle shine through all of the layers. As a result, I used three thin coats of Honor Roll for full opacity. Dry time between coats was wonderful, and was between 1-2 minutes.Honor Roll dried glossy, but I added top coat for some extra shine. Shown in my swatches are three thin layers of Honor Roll, plus one layer of glossy top coat; pictures were taken under a daylight bulb.

Honor Roll is available on ILNP's website for $10.00 for a full size (15 mL) bottle, and you can find the listing for it right here. You can also find ILNP on Amazon, for the same price as on their website!

Please be sure to check out ILNP on social media!

Ever After Polish Mrs. Robinson: Swatch and Review

Ever After Polish Mrs. Robinson: Swatch and Review

*Purchased by Me*

I feel like it has been a bit since I've posted! Sorry; I'm baaaack! Today, I have a bright, summer color from Ever After to share with you!

This shade is named Mrs. Robinson. Mrs. Robinson was a color that Rachel created for The Indie Shop, which was an indie nail polish event that was held in California in May. Well, afterwards, she made some of the bottles available for purchase through the website, and you know that I had to pick it up! Mrs. Robinson is a bright neon pink with a golden shimmer. The shimmer is a bit shy in pictures, but is definitely apparent in person!

The formula on Mrs. Robinson was absolutely smooth and wonderful, as are all of the Ever Afters that I own! I was able to reach full opacity in two coats of medium thickness. Because of the neon nature of the polish, it dried down a bit matte; because of this, I added glossy topcoat for extra shine, and to bring out that gorgeous golden shimmer! Shown in my pictures are two coats, plus one layer of glossy top coat; these were taken under a daylight bulb.

I also thought that this would be the perfect base for some stamping! One of my favorite color combos is neon pink (okay, any neon color) and black. For this I chose an image from Bundle Monster's BM-716, from the Secret Garden Collection of plates, and stamped using black Konad polish and my clear stamper from Born Pretty Store. Everything is sealed in with another layer of glossy top coat!

There are still some bottles of Mrs. Robinson left in Ever After's shop, so if you love it, be sure to pick up a bottle! The cost is $10.00 plus shipping, and you can find the listing right here!
