Lipsticks and Nail Polish Hand and Cuticle Care Products: First Impressions and Review

Lipsticks and Nail Polish Hand and Cuticle Care Products: First Impressions and Review

*Products provided for review*

Happy Monday!! Today, I have something a bit different for you, but still nail related. I was contacted by Cristina of Lipsticks and Nail Polish , and asked to review some of her newly created hand and nail care products, as well as some nail art products. I was happy to oblige, and have some things to show you today! And may I just say, I absolutely love it when bloggers begin their own indie brands! There are a bunch of products that I have to show you; let's get started!

Soak Mani Bombs

There are various mani bombs that Cristina has available in her shop, but the directions for each are the same. When using mani bombs, drop it into a bowl of warm water. Allow the bomb to fizz up and then soak your hands in the water for as long as needed, but no less than 5 minutes. Pat hands dry and rub the remaining oils into your nail beds.

All of the mani bombs that I received to review smell absolutely divine, and they fizz up really nicely! Each different type will be listed below.

Mani bomb ingredients: Sodium bicarbonate, Chitric acid, Dead sea salt, Kaolin clay, jojoba oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, sesame oil, sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, fragrance oil polysorbate 80, isopropyl alcohol, and colorant.

Calavera Mani Bomb (0.5 oz, $2.00)

These myrrh, amber, sandalwood and patchouli scented ghoulish little skills can be used for one mani, one skull per hand. Limited Edition for Halloween.

The Great Pumpkin Mani Bomb (1 oz, $2.00)

These cute little pumpkin spice scented pumpkins can be used for two manicures, one for each pumpkin. They've been painted orange for the season. Limited Edition for Halloween.

These little pumpkins smell amazing, and the scent stays with you for a long while, even after washing your hands! Here's a picture of how it fizzes up in a bowl of warm water (picture taken using flash).

Cherry Sno Cone Mani Bomb (1.2 oz, $2.00)

These cherry scented little Italian ice bombs are perfect for those of us who can't let go of summer just yet.

How adorable is this?! I love the cute little shape and packaging, and it smells amazing!

Don't Worry Be Happy Jellyless Donut Mani Bomb (0.7 oz, $2.00)

These jelly donut scented little suckers are super yummy smelling and amazing for your hands

Yes, it DOES smell like a jelly donut!

Donut Worry Be Happy Chocoholic Donut Mani Bomb (0.7 oz, $2.00)

These chocolate scented donuts are just as yummy smelling as their jelly counterpart and just as good for you.

I am a sucker for anything chocolate scented, and these babies totally fit the bill! I definitely need to stock up on them!

This is Halloween Mani/Pedi Bomb (1.3 oz, $3.00)

These Jack-O faces are perfect for a pedicure. You can also break these in half or even fourths for a nice pumpkin spice scented mani bomb. Limited Edition for Halloween.

Acid Heart Mani Bomb (0.8 oz, $3.00)

These concentrated mani bombs are raspberry lemonade scented and go bright pink in the water. They can be halved for a mani bomb and can also be mixed and matched with 1 or 2 other heart bombs for a full tub experience.

Yep, you heard correctly: RASPBERRY. LEMONADE. This baby smell so, so good!!

Electric Heart Mani Bomb (0.9 oz, $3.00)

These concentrated mani bombs are lemonade scented and go bright yellow in the water. They can be halved for a mani bomb and can also be mixed and matched with 1 or 2 other heart bombs for a full tub experience.

 Bath Bombs

Immerse Bath Bomb

Directions: Drop bomb into a clean tub of warm water. Allow bomb to fizz up and then step in to soak. Relax and enjoy. Rinse off after bath, spritzing tub with cleaner if necessary.

Shown is the Big Dipper Bath Bomb (2.6 oz, $8.00), which is jam packed full ofinky dark goodness and glittery silver mica. Peach sparkling citrus rose plum and a musk scented blend is perfect for an escaping little dip. Available in store for Christmas 2016.

**Black bath bombs are amazing, but can be messy. Though these bath bombs do not stain or leave residue, please make sure to clean tub properly before and after use.

Ingredients: Sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, dead sea salt, kaolin clay, avocado oil, coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, sesame oil, sweet almond oi, fragrance oil, grapeseed oil, fragrance oil, polysorbate 80, isopropyl alcohol, colorant.

Quench Cuticle Oil ($6.00)

This cuticle pen is jam packed with oils that benefit the health of your nails and nourish growth and strength. Use multiple times a day for maximum benefit.
Directions: Rub oil into cuticles and nail beds 3 times a day or as needed
Ingredients: Jojoba oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, sesame oil, sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, fragrance oil.
The scent that Cristina sent me was Raspberry Lemonade and, just like the mani bomb, it smells amazing! The oil soaked in extremely quickly, and was very moisturizing, with no extreme oily residue. The applicator is a click pen, with a very soft top; it took me about 15 clicks of the pen to get the oil to begin to advance, in order to be used.

In addition to the products listed above, Cristina also offers two other products, which include cocoa butter (I did not review these, as I have a cocoa butter sensitivity). These include Drench Mani Truffles ($8.00 for a set of 4) and Slough Lip Balm Scrub ($4.00). Also debuting around holiday time will be sugar scrub cubes ($8.00 for a set of 16).

Nail Art Products

In addition to the hand and nail care products, Cristina is also offering nail art products, including nail stickers ($5.00), stencils ($4.00), and water slide decals ($5.00).

The nail stickers and vinyls were very easy to peel off of the backing, and they stuck well to the nail. While applying the stickers, I was able to top them with 1-2 layers of glossy topcoat, and they lay flat. The vinyls allowed for crisp and even images when they were peeled off of the nail.

Before my package arrived, Cristina told me that she received an email from her distributor, stating that the decals were accidentally made with a matte paper, rather than glossy paper. This did affect my final look, but did not adversely affect the application; the decals still removed/slid off of the backing with great ease, after soaking in water for about 15 seconds.

Here are some looks that I made with all three of the Nail Swag products!

Thank you so, so much to Cristina for allowing me to review these products! These are all an absolute dream to work with, and I most definitely recommend trying them out in your hand and nail care routine. Let me know below if you have any question!

Manicure Monday with Cupcake Polish and Water Decals

Manicure Monday with Cupcake Polish and Water Decals

*Purchased by Me*

Welcome back to Monday! I have an ACTUAL Mani Monday post for you today! For these, I started out with Cupcake Polish Little Butterfly, then chose some coordinating water decals.

Collection: Spring 2016 Butterfly Collection
Color/Finish: Medium, vibrant green with an intense linear holo.
Formula/Application: Little Butterfly applied so, so smoothly and evenly! Dry time was quick, about 2 minutes between coats. It dried down semi-glossy; shown in my pictures are two coats plus top coat, under a daylight bulb.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! This is one of my new favorite greens; the shade and the intense holo are absolutely divine!
Availability: Cupcake Polish Little Butterfly is available on Cupcake Polish's site for $13.00 for a 15 mL bottle; you can find the listing for it right here

I applied Little Butterfly to my pinky and ring fingers, as well as my thumbs. For my middle and index fingers, I applied two coats of Sally Hansen Tag, Ur It!, then applied the water decals that I chose. Here are the decals:

And my final mani! Everything is sealed in with glossy top coat.

This combo feels so bright and happy!

DIFFERENT Dimension Up All Night: Swatch, Review, and Nail Art!

DIFFERENT Dimension Up All Night: Swatch, Review, and Nail Art!

*Purchased by Me*

Welcome to FRIDAY!!!! While I'm excited for it to be the weekend, one of my summer classes finally began, so I finally have some schoolwork to keep me busy again; I like it, though, and enjoy being busy!

Today, I'm sharing with you a color from DIFFERENT Dimension that I picked up from a destash, as well as some accompanying water decal nail art. Y'all know how I ave come to love my water decals!

DIFFERENT Dimension Up All Night was a color that was released in 2014, as a part of the I Survived Black Friday collaboration box with Cupcake Polish and Glisten & Glow. Up All Night is a dark teal linear holo, and it is absolutely glorious, as are all of the holos that I have from Missi! I was able to get it opaque in two coats, and the dry time between coats was about two minutes.

After digging through my stash of water decals, I decided to go with this image. I love how well the jewel-tone purple in this image goes with Up All Night. I selected my favorite parts of this image, and applied them over two coats of Sally Hansen Tag, Ur It!, on both my index and middle fingers. After clean-up, I sealed everything in with two layers of glossy top coat, for extra longevity.

I absolutely love how this combo came out, and just typing up this post is making me itch to go play with some more decal and polish combos!

Nail Art with Grace-full Nail Polish Hello Spring and Water Decals

Nail Art with Grace-full Nail Polish Hello Spring and Water Decals

*Purchased by Me*

Happy Friday! Oh my goodness, I can't believe that it's already almost June! The time is flying by! Today, I have a short and sweet post for you, using a holo and some water decals!

A few weeks ago, the stockist Ella Ann Cosmetics was having a sale. I was perusing the site, and ran across this beauty in the clearance section, and decided to pick it up: Grace-full Nail Polish 'Hello Spring.' Grace-full Nail Polish is run by Theresa, and it is an Australian-based indie brand.

Hello Spring is a bright green linear holo with an added shimmer. I was able to get it opaque in three coats, and it dried glossy; however, I topped my application with top coat, for some added shine!

For this manicure, I applied Hello Spring to my ring finger, pinky, and thumb, then prepped my index and middle fingers with two coats of Sally Hansen Tag, Ur It! one of my go-to white polishes. After it fully dried down, I selected various patterns from a sheet of water decals that I picked up from eBay, and applied them. I sealed everything in with another layer of topcoat and, voila!

I love the beautiful simplicity of water decals, and feel that they can easily transform any look!

You can find Ella Ann Cosmetics right here. She is open currently, but is temporarily closing the store on June 1st, when she goes on maternity leave.

Manicure Monday: Ever After Polish and KBShimmer

Manicure Monday featuring: Ever After Polish and KBShimmer

*Purchased by Me*

Happy Manicure Monday! If you are a mother to any type of being, I hope that you had an amazing day yesterday!

Today, I am sharing another water decal mani with you! I had placed a small order with KBShimmer a couple of weeks ago, and decided to pick up one of the designs of water decals that are available in the shop. The image that I chose was a neon gradient snake skin print!

There were so many options to choose from, when it came to colors to pair these with! I opted for a pink holo from Ever After, named Tutti Frutti. Tutti Frutti was one of my first Ever After colors, and it was one of the colors offered by Hella Holo Customs in August of 2015.

For my mani, I used Tutti Frutti on my thumb and pinky and index fingers, and applied the KBShimmer decals over one coat of white, on my ring and  middle fingers, and sealed everything in with topcoat. Tutti Frutti has a magnificent formula, and it is opaque in two coats. The decals were easy to use, and they readily separated from the backing after soaking the pieces for about 15 seconds. Don't they look cool??

KBShimmer's decals are available on their site for $2.95 for one sheet. While Tutti Frutti is no longer available from Ever After, there are always many gorgeous colors available in the shop!

Nail Art with Anonymous Lacquer and Water Decals

*Purchased by Me*

Happy Saturday! I hope that the weekend is going well for you!

I have a brief post today, to show you the mani that I'm currently sporting!

For this, I polished my thumb, pinky and index finger with Anonymous Lacquer Mermaid Magic, which came in the Mermani Awesomesauce Box; you can check out my review on it right here! For my middle and ring finger, I started with a base of two coats of Sally Hansen Tag, Ur It!, one of my favorite whites. Then I applied one of the designs that I received in my pack of water decals. Everything is sealed in with top coat!

That's all! Told ya that it would be quick, right?

Friday Nail Art! Featuring Ever After Polish and Water Decals

*Sent for Review*
*Purchased by Me*

Happy Friday! I hope that you had an amazing week! I can't believe that it's going to be May in two days...time flies by wayyyy to quickly for me sometimes! Although, it is that time of the year; the time where I can pull out one of my favorite memes!

Hey there, Justin! How's it going?

Anywhoooo, let's get to some polish!

A couple of weeks ago, I had ordered a couple of packs of full-nail water decals from ebay. I have recently fallen in love with water decals, and wanted to buy some in bulk! Well, I received one of the orders yesterday, and I just had to play with them!

To start out with today's look, I chose one of the designs to use. I opted for a pretty pink cherry blossom design.

After deciding on a design, it was time to choose a polish! I picked up Ever After Polish's Princess Christmas Cake. I had received Princess Christmas Cake to swatch and review back in the winter time, and fell in love with it then.

Ever After Princess Christmas Cake is a light, baby pink, packed with silver flakies and linear holo. It was a part of the 'Tis the Season to Sparkle collection that was released this past winter; unfortunately, it is no longer available in Ever After's shop.

The formula on Princess Christmas Cake is smooth and easy to control. I like to apply a thin first coat, and then build up to opacity in three layers. Dry time is wonderful, and it dries nice and smooth! Shown in my pictures are three coats, plus glossy top coat.

When I went to apply the water decals, I thought that they looked opaque and that I would be able to layer them over Princess Christmas Cake. Alas, they were more sheer than I had expected. So instead, I chose to paint my ring and middle finger with a white base, using one coat of Sally Hansen Tag, Ur It! I then cut the decals to fit my nails and applied them, then sealed everything in again with top coat. Here is the final result!

This look came out super feminine and delicate, and I really like it! I can't wait to play with some more of my decals!

If you are interested in water decals, I suggest that you search on ebay; they are super inexpensive, and I didn't have to wait too long for the shipping from China. To see one of the listings that I purchased, you can click right here!
