Lollipop Posse Lacquer Holo-Maniacs Custom #5: Swatch and Review

Lollipop Posse Lacquer Holo-Maniacs Custom #5: Swatch and Review

*Provided by maker for swatch and review*

Hey, long time, no blog! My job has me away from my computer lately, so I haven't had much time to write up new posts during the day; I'm working on scheduling some ahead of time, though!

Today, I am sharing a polish that was created by Karen of Lollipop Posse Lacquer for one of my groups on Facebook, Holo-Maniacs. I created Holo-Maniacs as a place for lovers of anything and everything holo, and have featured a guest maker each month, who creates a custom for said month; everyone votes on their favorite color, then submits and votes on inspiration pictures coordinating with that color. It is super fun, and everyone in the group is amazing! I chose two makers for the month of July, since it's my birthday month, and I wanted to have a bit more fun than usual in the group ;) If you'd like to join (which is a requirement in order to purchase the group customs), you can find Holo-Maniacs right here! Now, on to the polish!

Lollipop Posse Lacquer Holo-Maniacs Custom #5

This was the inspiration picture that was chosen for the custom! Gorgeous, huh??

Collection: Custom created for the month of July for the Holo-Maniacs Facebook group
Color/Finish: A stunning pink linear holo with purple shimmer.
Formula/Application: Holo-Maniacs Custom #5 was so smooth and easy to apply, the the formula was like pure butter! It was pretty much opaque in one coat, but I did do two coats for safe measure; on the second coat, the color deepened a bit. This dried glossy, and dry time between coats was about two minutes. Shown in my swatches are two coats plus one layer of glossy top coat; pictures were taken under a daylight bulb.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! This may honestly be one of my new favorite pinks! It is simple but striking, all at the same time. The holo is amazing on this, as is that extra purple shimmer. I think that Karen did an amazing job at replicating the feel of the inspiration picture. Thank you again, Karen!!
Availability: Lollipop Posse Lacquer Holo-Maniacs Custom #5 is currently available in her shop, and it will be available until July 31st. Karen is also offering a 15% off of other products in her shop, if you purchase the custom! Please be sure to check out Holo-Maniacs for all of the purchasing information! I hope to see you in the group!

Different Dimension Nose So Bright: Swatch and Review

Different Dimension Nose So Bright: Swatch and Review

*Purchased by Me*

Hellooooo, Friday! Today, I am sharing a polish from Different Dimension that I picked up from a destash a couple of weeks ago. This was originally from a winter collection, but as we all know, I will wear any polish at any time; plus, it was a great color for this time of year :) Let's take a look!

Collection: Winter 2014 Collection
Color/Finish: A bright red jelly packed with silver flakies!
Formula/Application: Nose So Bright was very smooth and easy to apply. Since it was a jelly, I was very surprised with how opaque it was, even on the first coat. I did have to manipulate the flakies on my nails a bit, as they tended to gather in clusters when applied; however, there were plenty on the brush, and I did not have to fish for any. It dried semi-glossy, and my swatches show two coats plus one layer of glossy topcoat.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 hearts! I loved the brightness and finish of this polish; the only thing preventing that last star was the fact that I had to manipulate the flakies a bit.
Availability: Different Dimension Nose So Bright is not currently available in their shop.

Great Lakes Lacquer It's Treasure, Savvy? : Swatch and Review

Great Lakes Lacquer It's Treasure, Savvy? : Swatch and Review

*Purchased by Me*

Happy humpday! I've only had one day of work so far this week, and I'm already tired..ahh, the perils of coming back from a long weekend! But, I received this polish in the mail yesterday, and I was instantly perked up. I usually wait a bit before posting about a new polish that I receive, but this one is time sensitive, so I wanted to share it now!

It's Treasure, Savvy? is a polish created by Mariah of Great Lakes Lacquer. It was a custom that was created for the amazing Savannah of Addicted to Polish (check out her blog right here!), and so many people fell in love with it, it was made available for purchase. This baby is only available until THIS THURSDAY, July 7th! Let's take a look, shall we?

Collection: Custom polish created for Savannah of Addicted to Polish
Color/Finish: Described by Great Lakes Lacquer as an olive green linear holographic polish with a copious amount of multichrome flake that shifts from bronze to gold to green
Formula/Application:It's Treasure, Savvy? had such an amazing formula!! Seriously, I think I had some heavy breathing going on when I was applying it! It was so smooth and easy to apply, and was almost opaque in ONE COAT! I did do two coats for good measure, and it did deepen the color a bit, as well as add some more dimension with the holo and flakies. Dry time between coats was great, about 2-3 minutes. It dried glossy, but my pictures are shown with one layer of glossy top coat. All pictures were taken under a daylight bulb.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! I don't have many olive greens in my collection, so this color is definitely a win for me. Combined with the holo, flakies, and amazing formula, I am now a bit obsessed with this polish!
Availability: Great Lakes Lacquer It's Treasure, Savvy? is currently available in the shop, and will be available only for 2 more days, until Thursday, July 7th! It costs $11.00 for a 15 mL bottle, and you can find the listing for it right here! Thank you again to Mariah and Savannah for allowing this to be made available to the public!

Different Dimension Buttersweet Symphony: Swatch and Review

Different Dimension Buttersweet Symphony: Swatch and Review

*Purchased by Me*

Hello, hello! Welcome back from the holiday weekend; I hope that you had a great one! Today, I am showing you a color from Different Dimension. I had picked up this color a while ago, when Missi was clearing out some of her older colors; and boy, I sure am glad that I picked it up! This shade is super unique to my collection. Let's take a look!

Collection: Fall 2015 Falling in Love Collection
Color/Finish: Golden yellow-leaning-green linear holo with added holo glitters!
Formula/Application: Buttersweet Symphony was smooth and easy to apply, and wasn't too thick or thin. Dry time between coats was great, about 2 minutes. It dried smooth and glossy, but my swatches are shown with one layer of glossy top coat.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! As I said before, Buttersweet Symphony is a super unique shade to my collection. Paired with the gorgeous formula and holo, it definitely gets a top rating!
Availability: Different Dimension Buttersweet Symphony is no longer available in Missi's shop, but you may be able to find it in some destashes!

Lovely Layering: BIRTHDAY NAILS!!! featuring Ever After Polish

Lovely Layering: BIRTHDAY NAILS!!! featuring Ever After Polish

*Purchased by me AND sent for review*

Happy Sunday, polish peeps! Tomorrow is the 4th of July/Independence Day, and it is also my 24th birthday!! For my nails, I used a brand new color from Ever After Polish that was released for, and just in time for, the 4th of July!

I layered this new polish over a neutral color which I had received for review from Ever After, back in December. Let's take a look at both colors, and my combo!

Ever After Polish The Naughty List

Collection: Winter 2016 'Tis the Season to Sparkle Collection
Color/Finish: The Naughty List is a charcoal gray crelly.
Formula/Application: The Naughty List is nice and smooth to apply. Because of its crelly finish, it is a bit thin; I used two coats here, and still had several small bald spots. Three thin coats would give you full opacity! This dries semi-glossy; my pictures are shown without topcoat.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 hearts! The Naughty List is a wonderful shade as a base for glitter and/or nail art. I do like the quick dry time, and don't mind that three coats are needed.
Availability: Ever After Polish The Naughty List is not currently available in their shop.

Ever After Polish Spangled

Collection: No set collection; this was released in June 2016, for the 4th of July.
Color/Finish: Spangled is a microglitter bomb full of red, blue, and silver holo glitters and larger red glitters dispersed throughout.
Formula/Application: I layered one thin coat of Spangled over two coats of The Naughty List, and it applied nice and smooth, with an even disbursement of glitter. The only thing that I had to fish for was the larger red glitter; however, they were easily discovered. My one coat dried quickly, and it dried smooth. I sealed everything in with one layer of glossy topcoat, for some extra shine!
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! Spangled is the PERFECT 4th of July glitter bomb, with an amazing formula to boot! In person (and when I wiggle my fingers around like a fool), the sparkle is so intense!
Availability: Ever After Polish Spangled is currently available in Ever After's shop; it costs $9.00 for a 13.5 mL bottle, and the listing for it can be found right here

Cupcake Polish Double Chocolate Cupcake: Swatch and Review

Cupcake Polish Double Chocolate Cupcake: Swatch and Review

*Purchased by Me*

Today, I'm sharing a Cupcake Polish with you that put me on Cloud Nine! I didn't think that I would have been able to get my hands on this, but I was lucky enough to hit up a destash at JUST the right time, and was able to purchase it! This is Double Chocolate Cupcake!

Collection: May 2016 For the Love of Polish box
Color/Finish: Double Chocolate Cupcake is a bronzy brown linear holographic with a hidden pink shimmer.
Formula/Application: This was a dream to apply, and I was able to get it opaque in two medium coats! It did dry a bit dull, but one layer of glossy top coat shined it right up, and brought out the holo and the shimmer. My pictures were taken under a daylight bulb.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! Double Chocolate Cupcake is such a unique brown to my polish collection! I actually tried to create a dupe with layering, but the golden tones to this make it super unique. I am in love!
Availability: Cupcake Polish Double Chocolate Cupcake is no longer available for direct purchase, but there may possibly be some floating around in destashes. If you are interested, I definitely recommend going on a hunt for it!

Lovely Layering: Featuring Essie and KBShimmer

Lovely Layering: Featuring Essie and KBShimmer

*Purchased by Me*

Hey, hey, it's officially July!! Today, I'm sharing a combo with you that I am super in love with! I recently purchased a couple of new Essies, and I had to play with at least one of them immediately. Let's take a look!

Essie Berried Treasures

Collection: Summer 2016 Viva Antigua! Collection
Color/Finish: Described on the Essie website as a bright ruby berry. Berried Treasures is a creme finish!
Formula/Application: The formula on Berried Treasures was absolutely divine! I have been extremely impressed by Essie's formulas for the past several collections, and this was no exception. It applied smoothly and evenly, and was opaque in just two coats. It dried very glossy; shown in the above pictures are two coats with NO topcoat.
Rating:♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! The formula on Berried Treasures is so smooth and easy to apply, and isn't too thick or thin. The color is absolutely perfect for the summer (or any time of the year, for that matter). I can't wait to use this as the base for some nail art, as well!
Availability: Berried Treasures is currently available in drug stores and beauty stores; the price per bottle is $8.50, plus tax. You can also pick it up on Essie's website, right here

Time for Some Layering!!

After applying Berried Treasures, I thought to myself, "Hey, how would this look with some HOLO?!?" So, I went for it! I used KBShimmer's Prism Break, which is one of my favorite linear holo topcoats. For these pictures, I used one thick coat of Prism Break, and topped that with one coat of glossy top coat.

Gahhhh, would you just look at that holo flame? Gorgeous!!

And a before and after shot!

You can pick up KBShimmer's Prism Break on their website; the price is 9.25 for a 15 mL bottle; you can find it right here!

Please be sure to check out Essie and KBShimmer on social media!
