Lovely Layering: BIRTHDAY NAILS!!! featuring Ever After Polish

Lovely Layering: BIRTHDAY NAILS!!! featuring Ever After Polish

*Purchased by me AND sent for review*

Happy Sunday, polish peeps! Tomorrow is the 4th of July/Independence Day, and it is also my 24th birthday!! For my nails, I used a brand new color from Ever After Polish that was released for, and just in time for, the 4th of July!

I layered this new polish over a neutral color which I had received for review from Ever After, back in December. Let's take a look at both colors, and my combo!

Ever After Polish The Naughty List

Collection: Winter 2016 'Tis the Season to Sparkle Collection
Color/Finish: The Naughty List is a charcoal gray crelly.
Formula/Application: The Naughty List is nice and smooth to apply. Because of its crelly finish, it is a bit thin; I used two coats here, and still had several small bald spots. Three thin coats would give you full opacity! This dries semi-glossy; my pictures are shown without topcoat.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 hearts! The Naughty List is a wonderful shade as a base for glitter and/or nail art. I do like the quick dry time, and don't mind that three coats are needed.
Availability: Ever After Polish The Naughty List is not currently available in their shop.

Ever After Polish Spangled

Collection: No set collection; this was released in June 2016, for the 4th of July.
Color/Finish: Spangled is a microglitter bomb full of red, blue, and silver holo glitters and larger red glitters dispersed throughout.
Formula/Application: I layered one thin coat of Spangled over two coats of The Naughty List, and it applied nice and smooth, with an even disbursement of glitter. The only thing that I had to fish for was the larger red glitter; however, they were easily discovered. My one coat dried quickly, and it dried smooth. I sealed everything in with one layer of glossy topcoat, for some extra shine!
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! Spangled is the PERFECT 4th of July glitter bomb, with an amazing formula to boot! In person (and when I wiggle my fingers around like a fool), the sparkle is so intense!
Availability: Ever After Polish Spangled is currently available in Ever After's shop; it costs $9.00 for a 13.5 mL bottle, and the listing for it can be found right here

Lovely Layering: Featuring Essie and KBShimmer

Lovely Layering: Featuring Essie and KBShimmer

*Purchased by Me*

Hey, hey, it's officially July!! Today, I'm sharing a combo with you that I am super in love with! I recently purchased a couple of new Essies, and I had to play with at least one of them immediately. Let's take a look!

Essie Berried Treasures

Collection: Summer 2016 Viva Antigua! Collection
Color/Finish: Described on the Essie website as a bright ruby berry. Berried Treasures is a creme finish!
Formula/Application: The formula on Berried Treasures was absolutely divine! I have been extremely impressed by Essie's formulas for the past several collections, and this was no exception. It applied smoothly and evenly, and was opaque in just two coats. It dried very glossy; shown in the above pictures are two coats with NO topcoat.
Rating:♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! The formula on Berried Treasures is so smooth and easy to apply, and isn't too thick or thin. The color is absolutely perfect for the summer (or any time of the year, for that matter). I can't wait to use this as the base for some nail art, as well!
Availability: Berried Treasures is currently available in drug stores and beauty stores; the price per bottle is $8.50, plus tax. You can also pick it up on Essie's website, right here

Time for Some Layering!!

After applying Berried Treasures, I thought to myself, "Hey, how would this look with some HOLO?!?" So, I went for it! I used KBShimmer's Prism Break, which is one of my favorite linear holo topcoats. For these pictures, I used one thick coat of Prism Break, and topped that with one coat of glossy top coat.

Gahhhh, would you just look at that holo flame? Gorgeous!!

And a before and after shot!

You can pick up KBShimmer's Prism Break on their website; the price is 9.25 for a 15 mL bottle; you can find it right here!

Please be sure to check out Essie and KBShimmer on social media!
