Nail Art with Supernatural Lacquer, Sinful Colors, and Born Pretty Store

Happy Saturday! What are you all up to this weekend? Today and Sunday are just some days for errands, schoolwork, and nails for me; nothing too exciting going on!

I have some stamping nail art for you today! I bought my first ever polish from Supernatural Lacquer, and when I received it, I thought of how amazing it would look with some nail art. (P.S. please pay no mind to the faded label; it, and I, lost a battle with some acetone!)

 

The color that I purchased from Supernatural Lacquer was called Avalon 2.0. It dries down a a dark, almost forest-y green, and is packed with gold flakes. Now, in the bottle, and in my pictures, it does appear brighter than what it actually looks like on the nail; however, it does dry down a bit darker. It is also semi-matte when it dries, but I added top coat to my swatch! Shown are two coats, plus top coat. 

 

 

 

After my two coats and topcoat dried down, I added some stamping! For this design, I chose an image from plate BP-13 from Born Pretty Store. I stamped using Sinful Colors Gold Medal (my go-to gold for stamping), and used my new clear stamper, also from Born Pretty. I just received this stamper yesterday, and I love it! It allows you to see through to your nail, so that you can see exactly where the image is being placed. This stamper required no priming, and it worked perfectly.

 I am so happy with how this image and color-combo came out, and I feel that it is a great St. Patrick's Day mani!

Lovely Layering: Zoya Willa and Vapid Lacquer TKO

Happy Thursday! I have some more layering for you today! This was kind of an "accidental" layering: One of the polishes is one that I own only in a mini, so I want to preserve it as much as possible!

For this mani, I began with two coats of Zoya Willa. Willa is a super creamy black creme. It is my absolute favorite black creme, and it is so smooth and shiny, even without topcoat! Zoya's cremes are always impeccable, and Willa is no exception.

After my two coats of Willa dried down, I topped it with one coat of Vapid Lacquer's TKO. I received TKO through a swap with a fellow polish-aholic, and I am so happy that I did!

 

 

 

TKO is a black base with ultrachrome chameleon flakies and multi-colored microglitter. It applied nice and smooth, and dried quickly! Here's what it looks like over Willa!

Isn't is beautiful?? Look at that multi-colored goodness!

Fair Maiden Snake Charmer: Swatch and Review

Hey! Today, I have a squashed lemming of mine to show you: Fair Maiden's Snake Charmer. I have been coveting Snake Charmer for a long while, and have had Fair Maiden on my list of indies to watch; I have heard nothing but great things about them! So, when I spotted this baby in a destash, I jumped at the chance and picked it up. 

Snake Charmer is between a light and a medium green, and it is a linear holo. And let me tell you: The holo on this baby is UNREAL. It is so much stronger than I was able to capture with my camera! The formula was smooth and buttery, and it did not run whatsoever. Opacity was achieved in two coats, and I sealed them in with one layer of top coat. 

For my first polish from Fair Maiden, I couldn't have asked for anything more. A smooth formula and a breathtaking holo? I'm set!

Manicure Monday: Nail Art Using China Glaze Electric Nights Collection and Uber Chic Stamping Plates

Happy Manicure Monday! I have some nail art for you today! I had created this mani back in the summer, and decided that I wanted to re-create it. Here are the materials that I had to gather, before I began: 

 

In order to begin this mani, I started with two coats of a plain white creme polish. My white of choice was Sally Hansen Insta-Dri 'Tag, Ur It!' This was released in Summer 2015, and it is one of my favorite whites-- It is opaque in two coats, and it dries quickly! 

After applying two coats of white, I topped it with one coat of quick-dry top coat, and let it dry for about 15 minutes. Then, I did a gradient with three colors from the China Glaze Summer 2015 Electric Nights Collection: Red-y to Rave, Home Sweet House Music, and Daisy Know My Name?. The Electric Nights collection is one of my favorites from China Glaze, and each color is bright, neon, and gorgeous. I only needed two passes of the cosmetic sponge over each nail for my desired opacity for this gradient! After clean up, I sealed and smoothed the gradient with another layer of top coat.

Next, I chose an image from an Uber Chic stamping plate, and stamped it with my favorite double-sided stamper from Bundle Monster. The plate that I chose was plate 1-01; I stamped using black Konad polish. I then sealed in the design with a final layer of glossy top coat. Here is the finished product!

And a macro! 

I absolutely love the contrast between the neons and the black stamping, and am so happy with how these came out!

Ever After Mystery Polish- Feeling Lucky? Swatch and Review

There's nothing quite like a mystery, right? Well, when Rachel of Ever After announced that she was releasing a mystery polish for St. Patrick's Day, I knew that I had to pick it up. I have never been disappointed by any of the mystery polishes that I have received from Ever After, and I had great hopes for this one (spoiler alert: It's wonderful!). 

The mystery polish is called 'Feeling Lucky?' and I was definitely feeling lucky when I saw what this baby looked like! It is a crelly that is between a light and a kelly green, and it is packed with holo microglitter, square holo glitter, and multichrome flakies. I have been on such a flakie kick lately, and Rachel sure knows how to pack polishes with them! 

I was able to get Feeling Lucky? opaque in three thin coats, but you could probably use two thick coats and be left with no visible nail line. Shown are three thin coats, plus glossy top coat!

Ever After Easter Grass and The Pink Berets: Swatches and Review

Happy Thursday to you! Today, I have two polishes from Ever After Polish that were released in the springtime last year, and are being brought back for a limited re-release this year! These two polishes are named Easter Grass and The Pink Berets, and they are crelly polishes packed with flakies. 

Easter Grass

Ever After Easter Grass is a bright green crelly base, full of beautiful multichrome flakies. 

The formula on Easter Grass is smooth and easy to apply, and it is opaque in two coats, with about a 2-minute dry time in between. I used two coats plus glossy top coat for my pictures. (Also, a note: This baby is bright, but I did not experience any problems with staining upon clean up or removal!)

The Pink Berets

Also re-releasing is The Pink Berets, a medium dusty pink crelly with multichrome flakies. 

The formula and application on The Pink Berets was the same as Easter Grass: Smooth, easy to apply, and opaque in two coats, with a dry time of 2-3 minutes between each coat. Shown are two coats, plus glossy top coat. 

So, what do you think? I am so happy that Rachel has decided to re-release these this year! I was able to find my bottles through destashes, but I know that there are many others who are coveting them, and were not able to get their hands on them. 

The limited re-release of Easter Grass and The Pink Berets will happen on Friday, March 4th, at 6 PM EST. Also re-releasing will be a polish named EB, which is a light to medium blue linear holo. There will also be several other new polishes releasing: Three core holos that are Princess themed, a yellow holo named "Peep Show," and a Guiness-inspired duo. The prices of the polishes range from $10-$11 plus shipping.

ILNP XO: Swatch and Review

Hey there! Today, I have a polish from an indie/boutique brand that is quickly becoming one of my favorites: ILNP (I Love Nail Polish). The color that I have for you today is XO. 

XO is a purple base packed with platinum silver flakies and holographic glitter. If I had to dream up the perfect purple polish, this would probably be it! The formula on XO was smooth and easy to apply, and dry time was about 3 minutes between coats. Now, I tend to be a bit messy with my application, and follow it with clean-up; as a result, I got flakies and glitter all over my fingers. However, they came off easily when I washed my hands and rubbed them off of my skin. Shown in my pictures are two coats, plus glossy topcoat.
