Manicure Monday! featuring Ever After Polish and UR Beautiful

Manicure Monday! featuring Ever After Polish and UR Beautiful

*Purchased by Me*

Happy Manicure Monday! Today, I'm sharing some stamping with you!

To begin with this manicure, I applied three thin coats of Ever After Polish Something Blue. Something Blue is a gorgeous blue-toned teal packed with multi-chrome flakies and scattered holo. It was part of a duo that Rachel had created for her wedding, the other half of which was a light pink holo with larger holo glitters, named I Do. Something Blue is opaque in three thin coats, and it dries quickly and glossy. Shown is with one layer of glossy top coat!

Something Blue is one of my favorite Ever Afters! Unfortunately, it is no longer currently available in the shop.

After my polish and top coat dried, I selected a stamping image. This image was from UR Beauiful-04, a plate that I picked up from an online shop (I'm sorry, I can no longer find the plate in the shop to link for you!). To stamp this image, I used Sally Hansen's Silver Sweep, my go-to silver for stamping (which is also discontinued...SO SAD!!). I sealed everything in with another layer of top coat; here is the final result!

I'm loving how these turned out!

What are your favorite color combos for stamping? Let me know below!

Polish Con Fall 2016: Fall in Love With Indies

Polish Con Fall 2016: Fall in Love With Indies

What is this? Two posts in one night? Well, I just HAVE to tell you about my experience at Polish Con! I had the amazing opportunity to help out at and attend the inaugural Polish Con (Polish Convention) in Chicago last week, and I had the time of my life! There were loads of indie nail polish vendors, tutorial tables, and lots and lots of people to meet. And of course, INSANE amounts of polish to purchase (which, let's be honest, I went a little crazy; I'll show my haul at the end of this post)! By no means did the pictures that I take represent the entire event; they are just the ones that I had the time to take! Let's take a look!

My first stop, of course, was the Ever After Polish table! This is Rachel and her husband, Ian. Check out the event exclusives and her newest collection, based off of the musical Wicked!

Next to Rachel Was Miranda's portion of the table, sporting her bath/body and hand care products. I wasn't able to nab a picture of her, but you can spot her head ducking down! I picked up a Maple Bacon lip balm from her table, a new flavor that she is offering, and it smells DIVINE! It was great to meet Rachel and Miranda in person!

Next, I went to the Cupcake Polish table! Sara's table was so stinking adorable; she even had shopping baskets, so that you didn't have to juggle the bottles while shopping. It was amazing to finally meet Sara in person as well!

The event limited edition colors were in cute little bowls on the tables!

And she had some adorable cupcake bath bombs as well!

Next was the DIFFERENT dimension table! I wasn't able to get a picture of the table (it was PACKED by the time I got to it!), but I was able to get a picture with Missi! She is too sweet!

I also visited the Darling Diva Polish table, and I think that I fell even more in love with Carrie; she. Is. AWESOME. Her polishes are bomb, and she is even more so! She even had a raffle, where the prize was a hot pink glittery travel cup with the Darling Diva logo, as well as an LE polish.

Great Lakes Lacquer was also at the event, as Mariah was one of the main organizers of the event (she worked alongside Rachel and Miranda to plan the entire event). She had some stunning event exclusives/limited editions, as well as the other beautiful polishes that she brought along! I was smitten when I was able to meet Mariah!

The event LEs-- they cleared out quickly!

I also had the pleasure of meeting Stefanie from Supernatural Lacquer (as well as her mother)! I was able to try her acetone additive at the event, and I am officially a convert! She has a bunch of new scents, and they are so moisturizing!

Chelsea of Pretty & Polished also attended the event! She debuted some of her new Fall polishes, as well as some polishes that she created for the event.

Again, these were not all of the vendors who were in attendance, just the ones that I was able to nab pictures of!

In addition to the vendors, there were also tutorial tables. I had the pleasure of hosting a tutorial table, at which I spoke about nail care, filing, and manicure clean-up. I am so happy that I was given the opportunity to speak about this topic, and it was a pleasure to meet with everyone who signed up for the tutorials. Here is a shot of my table; look at all of the Ever After nail files!

Oh yeah, you wanted to see my haul, right!? Some may say that I went a little overboard, but...NAHH! I can't wait to play with and blog about all of these pretties!

At the end of the convention, it was announced that it will be held in Chicago every Fall, and that the location for the Spring will rotate; this coming Spring, in 2017, the Con will be held in New York! This is even closer to me, so I will for sure be attending!

Cupcake Polish Metamorphosis: Swatch and Review

Cupcake Polish Metamorphosis: Swatch and Review

*Purchased by Me*

Happy Sunday to you! Tonight, I am going to be showing you a stunner from Cupcake Polish (well, all of Sara's creations are stunners, in my opinion!). This is Metamorphosis!

Cupcake Polish Metamorphosis is a part of the Spring 2016 Butterfly collection, and it can be described as a denim blue linear holographic. In some lights it looks blue, and in others, indigo/purple. Shown in my swatches are two coats for full opacity, plus one layer of glossy top coat, under a daylight bulb. The formula, as usual, was smooth as butter, and it dried quickly. Metamorphosis did dry down a bit dull, but a layer of glossy top coat shined it right up and brought out the beautiful linear holo!

You can pick up Cupcake Polish Metamorphosis (and I definitely recommend that you do!) right here; the cost is $13.00 for a full-size 15 mL bottle.

Darling Diva Polish Andromeda (September 2016 Fantasmic Flakies Custom): Swatch and Review

Darling Diva Polish Andromeda (September 2016 Fantasmic Flakies Custom): Swatch and Review

*Sent by maker for review*

Hey! Long time, no blog! So sorry that I've been absent for a bit; I was catching up with work and school work, then I went to Chicago for the inaugural Polish Con! It was SO MUCH FUN, and I bought more polish than I probably should have. You know what that means: More swatching and blogging material!

Today, I am sharing the September custom for my group Fantasmic Flakies. The September custom was created by the amazing Carrie of Darling Diva Polish. DDP was one of my first indie brands, and will always hold a special place in my heart. Carrie named the September custom Andromeda; let's take a look, shall we?

Darling Diva Polish Andromeda is described as a red berry polish that flashes from brick red through purple berry with a soft linear holo and blue to red multichrome flakies. It is seriously so multi-dimensional, and may officially be one of my new favorite Darling Diva polishes! I was able to get Andromeda fully opaque in two coats; it dried quickly, smoothly, and evenly; shown are two coats plus one layer of glossy top coat.

Andromeda is available only to members of Fantasmic Flakies, and it is available until the end of September. Be sure to join the group right here, in order to be able to purchase this beauty, as well as future group customs!

Lovely Layering featuring Julie G and Colors by Llarowe

Lovely Layering featuring Julie G and Colors by Llarowe

*Purchased by Me*

Happy Friday! As you can see, I have a layering post for you today! I recently picked up a couple of polishes from Colors by Llarowe (my first from her!) when she refilled the clearance section on her site; there were two beautiful flakie toppers that caught my eye, and I snatched them right up! I am sharing one of these with you today.

For the base of this layering combo, I chose to use Julie G Cabana Boy. Cabana Boy is said to be a dupe for the now discontinued original formula Sally Hansen Pacific Blue; I have both, and it is a pretty close match! Julie G Cabana Boy is a cornflower blue creme, and it applies smoothly and evenly, and dries glossy. I was able to get it opaque in two easy coats. You can find Julie G polishes online on the Jesse's Girl website, or in Rite Aid stores; they are super affordable, and usually cost $3.99 for a 10 mL bottle.

After my two coats of Cabana Boy dried, I applied one layer of Colors by Llarowe (CBL) Jackie. Jackie is described as a clear based blue to green flake. The formula on Jackie was very smooth and easy to apply, and required absolutely no fishing for the high density payoff of flakies that I received. All of the flakes laid flat, and it dried smoothly and quickly. Shown is with an additional layer of glossy top coat! CBL Jackie is still available on the Colors by Llarowe website, and it is on sale for $5.00 for a 12 mL bottle.

I will most certainly be keeping an eye on upcoming CBL polishes, and hope to soon be able to try out some of her holos; they look divine!

KBShimmer Violet Tendencies: Swatch and Review

KBShimmer Violet Tendencies: Swatch and Review

*Purchased by Me*
Happy Monday, and I hope that you are having a wonderful Labor Day so far! Today, I'm sharing a polish from KBShimmer that I picked up when Christy was having a sale on her Summer 2016 Misfits Collection; the Misfits Collection consisted of batches of polishes that Christy considered as "one-offs," or ones that she did not want to use a a part of a collection. The beauty that I have to share with you today is named Violet Tendencies.

Violet Tendencies can be best described as a medium-toned purple-toned violet linear holographic with additional larger holographic glitters. I was able to get it opaque in two smooth, easy coats. It dried quickly between coats, and dried glossy. Shown is with one layer of glossy top coat! Unfortunately, it is no longer available; however, KBShimmer recently released their Fall 2016 collection, and it looks beautiful! So...go pick some up!

After my two coats and topcoat dried, I decided to add some stamping! For this, I chose an image from Born Pretty Store's BP-25 and stamped with M Polish's To Have and To Holo (my favorite holo stamping polish!). Unfortunately, the maker of M Polish is no longer currently making polish, so I am currently on the hunt for another holo stamping polish, for when this one runs out. After everything dried, I sealed it in with another layer of glossy top coat. Here is the final result!

Holo upon holo, right!?

Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Holo-Maniacs Custom #7: Swatch and Review

Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Holo-Maniacs Custom #7: Swatch and Review

*Sent by maker for swatch and review*

Hello! Today, I'm back with another group custom for my Facebook group Holo-Maniacs, where we share our love for everything holographic! September's custom was created by Jenn Skinner of Daily Hues Nail Lacquer (DHNL), and it is currently available!

As usual, I posted a color poll in the group, followed by a picture inspiration thread and voting on said submitted pictures. Here is the winning picture, as well as the final polish that Jenn created!

This was my first polish from DHNL, and the formula was great! Holo-Maniacs Custom #7 is described as nude/sand-colored linear holo with gold highlights. It is exactly that! At first glance, it may look like a simply nude polish, but when you look closer, the gold highlights really pop!  I was almost able to get it opaque in one coat, but did two to cover some bare spots. It dries smooth and glossy. The formula was a bit thick, but was easily controllable and not at all difficult to work with. Shown are to coats plus glossy top coat.

I also decided to add some stamping to DHNL Holo-Maniacs Custom #7. Once dry, I chose a thunder bolt image from a plate that I purchased off of ebay. I stamped this image in black (Konad black), as I love a black and neutral combo! For this, I used my semi-squishy stamper from Bundle Monster. Everything is sealed in with a thick layer of glossy top coat!

Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Holo-Maniacs Custom #7 is currently available for the month of September. You do have to be a part of the Holo-Maniacs group, so be sure to come over, if you are interested!
